If you are looking for accurate, up-to-the-minute information about singer-songwriter Adam Lambert, then you should be looking at the fan sites and forums. Don't try to do your research through print publications, celebrity sites, or Google Alerts. The most reliable and current information will always be found on the fan sites. Lambert's fans are extremely organized, technologically sophisticated, dedicated, and thorough. They know everything there is to know, and they know it before anyone else does. They are the first to hear rumors and the first to validate or debunk them. It's quite astonishing to see the fanbase at work, gathering and sharing information. I'm not exaggerating - if anything I'm understating the reach and devotion of the fanbase. With all the technology and tools at their disposal, fans can communicate and network across the globe. For example, a radio station in Australia that aired a special feature about Adam Lambert had listeners from six continents while it was happening, and many more people listened to the recording after the event. Fans have recorded every one of Adam's shows, interviews, and appearances, and they have put all that media into files that people can download. When reporters do interviews with Lambert, it's easy to tell who has done their homework and who has just read one or two entertainment blogs. Many web and print publications get the facts wrong or twist the information to make a story. Contrary to what you might think, general American Idol websites are not good places to learn about Adam Lambert. Even Adam's official Sony website is a poor source of news because Sony is slow to update their site. The fan forum on that site has some good information, but it's unorganized and rather scary. At the moment one of the best and most authoritative websites for news about Lambert is Planet Fierce. Yes, that really is the name of the site. Another good source for videos, pictures, audio, and news is the Adam subforum on Idolforums. I don't know what the situation is with other fan groups, but I suspect that the Adam Lambert fanbase ranks very highly for the quality and speed of their intel. |
